Active Discovery is a semi-structured play-based program aimed at providing children and youth diagnosed with autism with increased opportunity to participate in physical activity according to their abilities and preferences. Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton have joined with Olympian Swim Club and SCONA Pool to provide adapted swim lessons for children with autism spectrum disorders. These lessons provide a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn the fundamentals of swimming, how to be safe in the water, and can be considered a supplement to improving speech, social skills, self-esteem, and cognitive processing. Swimming lessons and the free swim will occur simultaneously so that children can maximize their time in the pool.…

We are busy working hard to meet the need for direct services for families and we know you’re busy too. So this year we’ll stay focused on helping kids with autism, and you can have a night off.…

Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton have partnered with the Mayfield Figure Skating Club to provide adapted skating lessons for children with autism spectrum disorder. These lessons will be delivered by trained skating coaches, and supported by Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton staff.
