We are excited to announce information about Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton’s 2023 Summer Camps. Campers will be supported with staff and will have access to morning and afternoon camp activities. Campers will have the opportunity to spend the day engaging with peers, practicing self-help routines, working on fun, themed activities, and building trusting relationships with staff and peers.

Children’s Summer Camp 2023 will be offered at 3 locations this year, July 4 through August 25. There will be half day (3 hours) and full day (6.5 hours) options at each location.

Maier Centre West Camps:

Maier Centre West Camp is a good fit for Campers 5 to 12 years where community settings are highly dysregulating and may result in safety concerns. Pre-Teen & Teen (13+ years) Summer Camp 2023 will be spent exploring everything Edmonton has to offer!  All activities are planned in collaboration with the teens and based on their interests and places they want to go around Edmonton. The staff will support Teen Campers to learn how to access the city via public transportation. The staff will work with each camper to extend their independence relative to their unique circumstances (i.e., purchase tickets, order a drink, ask for help, etc.). This camp is offered for the full-day only. Each day will begin at Maier Centre South. Parents will be informed about location of pick up if it is not Maier South.

Location: Maier Centre South 9765 54 Ave

Registration

For families accessing funding through FSCD:

Specialized camps are assessed to meet family’s respite needs. However, guardians need to contact their FSCD caseworker to confirm the number of hours they are assessed and approved for prior to camp registration. FSCD will no longer retroactively reimburse for services that were delivered prior to FSCD approval. The family’s agreement is the source of this approval. Service providers are strongly encouraged to confirm what is in the family’s agreement with the family before providing a service and that they have signed their agreement/amendment and sent it back to FSCD for services to be activated.

Children’s Autism Services of Edmonton can confirm registration in Summer Camp 2023 when:

  • The online registration form is completed
  • The parent has sent us the FSCD agreement via email to summercamps@childrensautism.ca
  • For those receiving funding via FSCD, the parent portion is paid in full. Parents may also pay the full cost of camp.
  • The signed summer camp consent forms have been received
  • The signed summer camp service verification form has been received (we submit this to FSCD for payment)
  • You have received confirmation of times, dates and location from our summer camp team
  • Summer camps have reached capacity; you can submit a request and be added to a cancelation list
