“In 2023, I made a decision to have my son start school with Children’s Autism Services and what a great decision it was! From the first day, I was really impressed by the observation room and the transparency of what they do in class really helped me as a parent develop a trusting relationship with the staff. My son has always struggled with transitions but his emotional regulation has improved so much over the last two years that it’s no longer an issue for us. Home services as a parent isn’t an easy commitment and the idea of welcoming clinicians into our home is intimidating at first. However, it wasn’t long before I felt at ease, our home team has been so kind, non-judgemental and really follows a client-centered approach. Rather than feeling like there was a lot of expectations and pressure on me as a parent I felt supported. More importantly, I felt less alone in what can be a difficult journey to navigate. Our Teacher, Educational Assistants, in class and our home team clinicians have been so engaging, never hesitate to get active and encourage my son’s interests. Watching him go into school with a big smile on his face with full confidence he is safe and content is a gift that keeps giving. I could speak endlessly of what a positive experience we have had at Children’s Autism Services and their holistic approach to our family!”
