I’m Terri Duncan, Executive Director of Children’s Autism Services. I’ve spent my entire career assembling Northern Alberta’s biggest and most specialized team of professionals to support families who find themselves on the autism journey.
I know for many families, autism is daunting and even confusing. Many families don’t know where to start, or who to go to. What almost all families have in common is that wonder what the future will look like for their children. Well, autism is a spectrum, every child is different and has needs and requirements for growth.
I’m here to offer you a message of hope. We’re here to support you, to guide you, and to ensure your child reaches every possible milestone. Our programs work.
Don’t think you have to do this by yourself. Please reach out to us. Whatever age your child is, or whatever special needs they have, we have the specialists who can assess, recommend programs and then get to work with your child, and your family.
We’re here for you.
What You Need to Know
Autism is a spectrum. It affects every child differently. There is no one size fits all approach.
Our licenced and qualified experts will spend time with you and your child to determine his or her strengths and areas of specific need. We will design a plan and review that with you. Our team can support you to navigate services and government funding to ensure you have the supports that best fit the age and stage of your child.
Outcomes are better when the plan starts early in a child’s life. Our team is here to support the ages and stages of your child’s life.
Remember, you’re not alone. About 1 in 50 Edmonton children will be diagnosed with autism. There is a community that is active, and cares.
